| Blue & white cherry blossom teaset Teapot and five matching cups from Wasen porcelain factory in Hasami, Nagasaki-pref., located next to Arita. In a technique known as "dami", a brush is used to apply dabs of color to the surface of the glaze, resulting in the chequered pattern seen on this lovely blue and white teaset. Bold cherry blossom petals complete the look. The pattern is carried onto the interior rim of the cups but the interior is left white in order to better appreciate the color of green tea. A classic design full of Japanese character. Teapot has a built-in ceramic mesh infusor. Approx.
