Gagyu ryokuyu yunomi teacup - green glazed

This yunomi shows another side of the craftsman Gagyu. In a departure from his usual brushwork techniques, this beautifully lustrous teacup showcases his talents through the medium of color glazing.

The leafy green color presents a fresh image but the tones of the underlying red clay are also highly evident, resulting in a plesing depth of color which gives a quiet sense of relaxation. (Due to the effects of lighting the underlying red tones are not well represented in the computer photos. The yunomi may actually be slightly darker in color).
