Sansui lidded yunomi from Hataman kiln

A majestic-looking yunomi from the Hataman kiln (Nabeshima porcelain) in Ookawachi village in the vicinity of Imari. Decorated with a traditional sansui (sacred mountain) pattern in a deep indigo underglaze, the rounded body sits atop a raised foot giving it an imposing air. The interior is pure white, showing off the color of green tea to its best advantage. Ideal for serving special guests.The lid prevents the tea from cooling down too quickly, inviting those whose presence you relish to linger longer.
