Imari - Three Seasons Iro-Nabeshima vase

Classic techniques and designs are kept alive in this beautiful vase, crafted at the Taisen gama kiln in the Okawachiyama area of Imari city, which takes pride in adhering to the old Iro-Nabeshima traditions. The 3 separate "windows" portraying flowers reminiscent of the changing seasons, e.g. plum blossom and peonies representing spring, iris representing summer and chrysanthemum representing autumn show the deep respect afforded to nature. The finely drawn flora in the rich reds and blues so beloved by past craftsmen are outstanding against the pure white base.
A truly exquisite and versatile piece which can be rotated to reflect the season or to compliment the flowers displayed within.
A must for any Iro- Nabeshima collector..
