

| Hagi kohiki yunomi by Shibuya Deishi "Kohiki" refers to the technique of first applying a translucent white slip to the clay, then firing.Finally a thicker white glaze is applied, resulting in a smooth clean finish. The effect differs widely according to the base clay and the craftsman's touch. This piece has traces of the pink clay showing through and the "gohonte" (pale pink spots) so very characteristic of Hagi ware. Approx.
