Hagi Mishimatsuchi teapot (kyusu) by Shibuya Deishi
This teapot has a smooth glazed finish with traces of pink and gray showing through.
The body of the pot is decorated with shallow incisions - large leaf-like designs
on the main body and smaller nicks around the rim. In fact, it has a wonderful textured feel
all over, with the knob on the lid looking as if it has sprouted naturally out of the clay!
A very pleasing piece exuding warmth and originality.
The inside with its hand crafted ceramic strainer is coated with a darker glaze.
