Hagi vase #1 by Mukuhara Kashun

A classic Hagi vase with a warm, rustic feel.
The deep vertical cuts on the three sides of this vase give it a lovely lop-sided look which contrasts with the basic triangular shape. Further contrasts can be found between the jagged edges of the rim, the rough surface at the bottom and the smoothness of the glaze. The ash attached to the vase during firing adds an interesting accent. This vase is full of conflicting shapes and textures and is
just asking to be touched!
