Hagi Sansai tea bowl (Ippukuwan) #1 by Seigan
An eye-catching ippukuwan with an unusual design feature. The clay on two sides is overlapped, creating a vertical ridge which is nicked in three places, rather resembling a shirt front. The thick white glaze has a beautiful landscape of greens, browns and pinks. The nicks around the base cause the glaze to glint in the light adding an extra dimension and accentuating the lustrous quality of this lovely piece.
Comes in a paper box Hand-crafted in Hagi, Japan by Yamane Seigan (Wooden saucer is imported.)
