Shin chidori arare tetsubin kettle by Iwachu
The name "chidori" (which literally means wading bird) comes from the fact that the shape is thought to resemble that of a bird's body with the spout as the beak. The knob on the lid has been made in the shape of a pine cone.
This kettle has been specially treated by steam baking for 30-40 minutes, an oxidization process which improves its rust proof qualities. Despite this, care should always be taken to empty the kettle thoroughly after each use. The handle is fixed and it can not be folded down.
