Hagi yaki is especially favored by tea ceremony lovers. It's simple shapes and muted tones exude warmth and rusticity. This lovely rounded vase is a prime example. It's soft ridges make it pleasing to the touch and the pale pink spots ("gohonte") and artfully dripped white glaze give it unique character. Japanese "wabi sabi" (warm and rustic character) at it's best.
