Engraved clematis teapot by Setsudo/Kodo

This lovely, smooth teapot is made by Setsudo and engraved with a clematis design and further embellished with a poem by "Harunobu", a poet who retreated from the world to live a simple and profound life. In the poem he reflects on how the changing of the seasons affect a scene of natural beauty, using sensory images such as the color of the mountains, the sound of the wind in the trees and the currents of the river to illustrate his feelings. We can envisage the hopefulness of spring, the freshness of summer, the yearning of fall and the tranquility of winter through his poetry.
