"10 rules for a long life" teapot by Kodo

 

This minutely detailed teapot features an engraving of "Juroujin",a popular god of longevity.
The lid bears the title"10 rules for a long life",while the main body of the pot bears the said rules, engraved in the tiniest letters. Approximate translation of rules:

1.Don't think about getting old.
2.Think young thoughts.
3.Look forward to tomorrow.
4.Keep your mind free of worries.
5.Anger poisons the body. Stay calm.
6.Think deep, spiritual thoughts.
7.Breathe in new knowledge along with fresh air.
8.Once you have retired, do not keep working to gain honor or riches.
9.Eat little and well.
10.Find time for relaxing pursuits.

Hand-engraved by traditional Tokoname master craftsman 'Kodo', Master Craftsman recognized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and winner of various prizes.
