Shudei Nanban kamagata teapot by Konishi Yohei #3  

Nanban refers to the relatively coarse clay used to make this teapot which is fired at a lower temperature, resulting in a reddish brown color and a fine grainy texture. This teapot body has horizontal minute grooves.

Handcrafted by craftsman Konishi Yohei, eldest son of Yusen I, recognized as a Tokoname City Human Cultural Asset and recipient of numerous prestigious prizes.
