Tokoname yohen teapot by Konishi Yohei

This very small, dainty teapot features all the best aspects of the craftsman's work. It is superbly balanced in terms if the size of the handle and spout. The body has a yakishime design (closely packed horizontal lines which trace its production on the potter's wheel). So much of the craftsman's touch and spirit are invested in the pot that one can really imagine just how it came into being.

Furthermore, the teapot has been crafted out of supreme quality clay sourced from the vicinity of Tokoname's ancient kilns and prepared using simple age-old techniques such as soaking and washing in water and extracting only the best quality raw materials.

Crafted with careful attention to every stage in it's production.

Created in a wood-fired kiln
Handmade by craftsman Konishi Yohei, eldest son of Yusen I, recognized as a Tokoname City Human Cultural Asset and recipient of numerous prestigious prizes.
