Tokoname Teapot by Konishi Yohei

Tokoname no tsuchi yohen teapot by Konishi Yohei #8

Konishi Yohei sources his own clay from the area around Tokoname's ancient kilns. This is then prepared using simple age-old techniques such as soaking and washing in water, extracting only the best raw materials to create high quality items. This slightly conical teapot has an elegant feel with its yakishime pattern of closely packed horizontal lines and pearlised sheen. The recessed lid with its dainty knob also adds to the overall charm of this compact, beautifully finished piece.
