Bamboo engraved teapot by Shunen

An elegant teapot with “windows” cut out and engraved with bamboo stalks.
A thin layer of clay has been scraped away around the scalloped edges of the windows to reveal the red shudei clay beneath. The lid is engraved with bamboo leaves.
The textured engraving contrasts well with the smooth body of the pot.

Hand-crafted in Tokoname, Japan by Shunen II　(Mr. Mano Shun-en), winner of various national prizes.

Built-in ceramic mesh strainer.
