Pine tree kyusu teapot by Shunen II
This teapot showcases the engraving talents of Shunen
II (Mr. Mano Shun-en) ,winner of various national prizes. The edges of
the two windows are scraped away to reveal the red shudei color beneath.
The windows are decorated with detailed pine trees ( symbols of good luck
in Japan) on a background of recessed pinpricks. The patterns on the body
align perfectly with those on the lid. A carefully crafted piece in warm,
subdued tones.
Built-in ceramic mesh infusor.
