This is a wood-fired blue glazed teapot by Yamada Sou, the grandson of Living National Treasure Yamada Jozan 3rd. Shells are attached to the body of the pot during firing and their mineral components react with the clay to produce unexpected and thrilling effects on the natural glaze.
