Hakudei hidasuki teapot by Yoshiki
The reddish-brown hidasuki pattern on this shallow teapot has been created by wrapping the teapot with thin strands of straw before firing. This technique is characteristic of Bizen ware but here it has been applied to great effect on a Tokoname teapot. The natural base color is difficult to represent in photos. It is a pale beige with tiny dark speckles, a slightly warmer shade than it appears in the pictures above.
Handcrafted in Tokoname, Japan by Tokoname craftsman Yoshiki, who has won numerous awards for his tea ware.
Length (body + handle): Approx. 5.9" (15cm),
Height: Approx. 2.8" (7.3cm) US$248.00 (Shipping charges not included) SOLD |
