Ash gathers and melts along the rim and deep inside — raw, quiet, and gently rounded.

Watanabe Aiko calls wood-fired cups with earthy texture Shigaraki, even though these are fired in Iga. Iga and Shigaraki are geographically very close and share similar characteristics.
