Shino tokkuri sake bottle by Higuchi Masayuki #10

This tokkuri was fired in a traditional wood-fired kiln. Pieces are usually placed in protective fireclay containers called saggars, but this one was fired without a saggar. Although no ash settled on it, the flame’s interaction with the glaze produced intriguing effects known as yohen.
Comes in a signed wooden box.
