Hagi Gohonte matcha bowl by Matsuno Ryuji

Matsuno Ryuji was a very talented craftsman who passed away at the early age of 54 in 2005. He first won a prize at the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts) Exhibiton in 1979 and was awarded 5 times subsequently. In 1986 he won the Contemporary Ceramic Prize at the Japan Contemporary Arts and Crafts Exhibition which was followed in 1993 by the Chairman's prize at the same exhibition.In 1997 he was awarded a Fine Arts Incentive Prize from Hagi City. He also served as a board member of the Yamaguchi Japan Exhibition Committee.
