Yakishime Nanban teapot by Hokujo #20

A one-off Nanban yakishime teapot by Master Hokujo, ceramic artist recognized as an Intangible Cultural Property holder by Tokoname City.

This piece has a softly rounded body with an elongated handle, giving the teapot a graceful and well-balanced silhouette. The natural unglazed surface shows fine specks and subtle variations in the fired clay.

The body is mainly shaped from the inside on the potter’s wheel, allowing the naturally rough outer surface of the clay to remain.
