A set of white Tenmoku backhandle teapot and two cups by Shoryu #12
This piece introduces a matte, marble like surface within Shoryu's Tenmoku style, achieved through a different finishing technique than his glossier work.
The surface has been treated with urushi lacquer by a traditional Urushi craftsman.
The textured lid of the teapot is finished in gold, while the interior of the two cups carries a mica based gold tone, giving it a softer, more subdued shade by comparison.
Comes in a signed wooden box.
Built-in ceramic mesh filter
