This is a beautifully crafted one-off piece by a highly regarded craftsman. The horizontal sujihiki lines are interspersed here and there with slightly rough, rugged patches which breathe life into the piece and add a certain twist. The fluid lines all seem to merge into each other, creating a lovely compact teapot with its own unique charm.
The rough surface can be made by applying rice husk on the surface before firing. This teapot was made especially for an exhibition. Handcrafted filter (Doake)
