Wood-fired Tokoname/Bizen kyusu teapot by Yoshiki
A small teapot displaying the balance typical of carefully crafted Tokoname ware. The handle and spout are in perfect proportion to its size and the lid fits very snugly. This unique pot is made all the more special in that it was crafted while the artist was staying in the Bizen area and was wood-fired according to local tradition. It is therefore an interesting example of Tokoname crafting techniques and Bizen firing. A one-off piece, crafted by the artist in 1996 and kept aside ever since. It has never been used.
Handcrafted in Bizen, Japan by Tokoname skilled craftsman, Yoshiki (Mr. Murata Yoshiki), recipient of numerous awards.
