Wood-fired Tokoname/Bizen kyusu teapot by Yoshiki #2

 

A small shallow teapot displaying the best of Tokoname craftsmanship techniques and the beautiful Bizen ash glaze. It is made all the more special in that it was crafted while the artist was staying in the Bizen area and was wood-fired according to local tradition.

The craftsman's stamp is visible inside the lid.

 

A one-off piece, crafted by the artist in 1996 and kept aside ever since. It has never been used.

 

Handcrafted in Bizen, Japan by Tokoname skilled craftsman, Yoshiki (Mr. Murata Yoshiki), recipient of numerous awards.
