Shudei yohen chatsubo and chasoku by Yoshiki
These are beautifully crafted sencha tea ceremony pieces.
The chatsubo (tea jar) has an all-over hammered texture, divided into two
parts.
The bottom half of the pot has a matt finish whereas the top
section with its
lovely rustic shades of brick and dark brown has a slightly shinier
look.The smooth lines
around the lid also add an interesting contrast. The lid fits very
neatly inside the rim.
*This kind of tea jar is used in the sencha tea ceremony. It is not
suitable for storing
tea for any length of time.
The chasoku is crafted to look like a piece of split bamboo. It also has the same
hammered surface as the tea jar.
Handcrafted by Tokoname craftsman Yoshiki.
