Kikko Kokonoegata Tetsubin kettle by Kunzan 1.2L
Crafted by third generation traditional craftsman Kunzan, Mr. Sasaki Kazuo and his team. Sasaki is known for his
mastery of traditional techniques coupled with imaginative new innovations.
The Kokonoe is one of the traditional forms of Nambu iron kettles, passed down through generations of craftsmen.
The kettle has a body that broadens toward the base, ensuring a quiet sense of balance, warmth, and stability.
Designed with everyday use in mind, the form is particularly well suited to heating over a gas flame. Rooted in tradition yet timeless in appearance,
the Kokonoe embodies the enduring beauty and practicality of Nambu ironware.
This kettle has been specially treated by steam baking for 30-40
minutes, an oxidization process which improves its rust proof qualities.
Despite this, care should always be taken to empty the kettle thoroughly
after each use. The handle is fixed in place and cannot be folded down.
