Owl on a tree branch guinomi from Shouhou kiln

A charming sake cup in Shouhou's trademark yellow glaze. The tree branch, leaves and flowers are all clearly defined through the use of the "tubelining" technique and the jewel colors are shown to their best advantage against the vibrant background. The owl with its suitably sage expression looks perfectly at home in the colorful woodland scene. A sometsuke leaf design on the inside rim echoes the forest theme.
